Tarleton 'twin' passes

Being a huge fan of Gone With the Wind, it was sad for me to read this story today.

I can still remember the first time I saw the movie. I was in 6th grade and it was a cold, snowy West Virginia day. I watched it with my childhood friend Valerie. It was love at first sight for me! :)

That movie, I think, is what started my love for history. I read anything and everything I could get my hands on that pertained to the Civil War. My infatuation with the Civil War grew into a passion for any American History. I'm a history buff all around. Every new place I have lived I've put myself into it. I've found out the history of how the name came to be, famous(and not so famous) people who have lived in and around the area. I've learned of the culture of the area.

I've passed on my love to my boys already. They are starting small with our hometown. But Wyatt is moving on to bigger events. I get SO engaged in it!! I've shared my family history with him. I've shared the little I know of his 'name' with him. I'm not sure if he grasps that we have our family name traced back to 1786. That the house that our ancestors lived in...is still standing in Bavaria. I have a hard time with it!

Get out there..enjoy history..live it...make it!
